As a former neuroscientist, Chris knows what tech does to our minds. She will challenge you to rethink what you do … and don’t do.
Talks at GOTO Copenhagen 2019
Chris Atherton has previously worked on GOV.UK, where she helped build some of the UK's public digital services.
She is currently a designer working for Norway's Department of Work and Welfare. Way back in the mists of time, Chris used to be an academic psychologist. She hasn't completely let go of the desire for evidence-based decisions, but prefers the shorter feedback loops in software.
Pragmatic interaction designer and content consultant with extensive experience from digital product and service development, as well as flexible transformation, preferably via digitization of government services. Chris thrives most on challenging issues within complex domains and believes that the content and how it is adapted to the user's needs, is the core.
She has previously been a researcher and communicator in cognitive neuroscience and is happy to present lessons from that world, most of all how to manage attention in a gentle way, so that we do not overload.
