Katharine Jarmul is a privacy activist, data scientist and Pythonista based in Berlin, Germany. Her work and research focuses on privacy and security in data science workflows. She has been writing Python since 2008 and scraping the web with Python since 2010, with an experience in computers and code for over two decades.

Katharine is passionate about spreading knowledge on technology, her work, tools used in the open source community, data science done correctly and privacy on the web. Presently working as Principal Data Scientist at Thoughtworks, enabling customers to deploy privacy technologies at scale.

She is a passionate and internationally recognized data scientist, programmer, lecturer and writer.
