Group Intelligence: What Science Says About the Intelligence of Groups
We know there are ways of measuring various kinds of individual intelligences. We also know that, yes, some groups seem "smarter" than others. Are there ways of measuring "group intelligence" and what does that really mean? Individual intelligence seems to be "fixed" but I, of course, believe in "growth"! What about group intelligence? Can it be improved, that is, can we make our teams "smarter"? Linda will outline the latest research with some counterintuitive suggestions, including hiring for diversity, establishing a more level conversational protocol and encouraging team members to read more fiction.
